Hubert Keller, a Frenchman classically trained by France's top chefs, is now one of America's most widely recognized and acclaimed chefs. His world-renowned restaurants, Fleur de Lys San Francisco and Fleur by Hubert Keller in Las Vegas, feature Chef Keller's contemporary French cooking accented with Mediterranean flavors. With his palate attuned to America's evolving tastes, Chef Keller launched his wildly popular Burger Bar restaurants in Las Vegas, St Louis, and San Francisco. He has won numerous awards including the James Beard Foundation's "Best Chef: California" and has been elected to the Foundation's prestigious Who's Who in Food and Beverage. Food and Wine magazine tapped him as one of the Ten Best Chefs in America, and Restaurants & Institutions gave him its Ivy Award.
Chef Keller has cooked for several United States presidents and was the first guest chef invited to the White House to personally prepare his sophisticated vegetarian menu for President Clinton and his family. Chef Keller is also known for his performance as a judge on Top Chef as well as for his grace-under-pressure performance as a contestant in the first season of Top Chef Masters on Bravo. Chef Keller is a resident judge on Top Chef Just Desserts on Bravo.
Hubert appears frequently in the media including appearances on "Regis & Kelly" on ABC, "Rachel Ray", "The Real House Wife's from Orange County" on Bravo, "The Early Show on CBS", "Extra Extra", the Travel Channel, the Food Channel Network, ABC Good Morning America and Fox TV. Chef Keller's own cooking show, Secrets of a Chef, airs on PBS and is currently getting ready to film season 4.
Dubbed a "Rebel with a Cuisinart" in the New York Times for his early championing of original, multi-course, vegetarian menus in a 4-star setting, Chef Keller consistently cooks with a light hand and an eye on health. This led to his developing recipes for inclusion in Dr. Dean Ornish's best selling cookbook, Eat More, Weigh Less. Chef Keller's own cookbooks include The Cuisine of Hubert Keller (Ten Speed Press) and Burger Bar, Build Your Own Ultimate Burgers (Wiley). And his new cookbook "Souvenir" Memoires, Stories and Recipes from My Life, written with Penelope Wisner, published by Andrews McMeel and released October 30th, 2012.
Fleur was the best meal of my life. I've eaten at many places, but the food here is incredible. We did the prefix menu and it was to die for. The onion soup was so ridiculous, I savored every bite. The short ribs were so flavorful and tender, I didn't even need a knife. Great wine list and the service was outstanding. You must go there for the meal of your life in Vegas of all places.
AMAZING. If I could give ten stars, I would. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable and I can't wait to go back!! Our favorites? Tuna tacos and the to-die-for onion soup. If I had to pick two things to eat for the rest of my life, I can rest easy knowing that I've found them. Everything we ate was delicious, but the tacos and the soup were just exceptional.
This continues to be one of our favorite places to eat in Vegas. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is elegant but not over the top, and the food is fantastic. Also, unlike other trendy restaurants, it is quiet, something that seems to be lost on the restaurant community. The foie gras is brilliant, we have ordered i every time. It is spendy for sure, but in my opinion, well worth it.
